I was supposed to eat very lightly after work last night. I’d made it through the day not eating anything since waking up, but I had to stop by the grocery store to get water. Nothing good ever comes from a trip to the grocery store when I haven’t eaten. In addition to the water, I got some bagel chips for my hummus, some honey-roasted almonds, and some beef chili with beans. The bagel chips were too good not to eat them all, and the chili was a single-serve container, so both were gone before the night ended. Although I didn’t eat all of the almonds, I ate a lot of them, and I’m a pound heavier today.

It was incredibly busy at work yesterday, and that made working extra miserable. As is almost always the case, the day ended with frustration, so I was primed to eat something more than what I had at home. I’ve said this before, but I’ve got to stop going to the grocery store during the week. I always manage to pick up something that’s not particularly good for me, or at least something that’s too high in carbohydrates or calories (like the bagel chips and the chili). Although I did get something I needed (the water), it was actually an afterthought after I’d already pulled into the grocery store parking lot.

I can’t write any more today because I’ve got to get my car ready for the body shop. I have poor depth perception, and a while ago I scraped the side of the car against the gate of the condo complex I live in. I tend to put off things that cause stress, so this has been something that I’ve needed to deal with for a couple of months now.

Hopefully, I’ll be able to behave myself in terms of calorie and carbohydrate intake today, but, as always, we’ll see.
