I fasted until about 4 pm yesterday, and then I felt hungry enough to get a Snickers and some popcorn from the vending machine at work (probably not the best choice). After work, I had an apple, some raw almonds (probably too many), and some broccoli with cheese sauce for dinner. This morning, I weighed exactly the same as I did yesterday morning.
It doesn’t seem like I could have consumed enough calories to not lose at least a little bit of weight, but apparently I did. I do munch pretty mindlessly on the raw almonds when I dig into them, so I’m probably taking in more calories than I think I am. The Snickers didn’t help, obviously, but I’m still surprised at not losing anything at all.
I’ll probably celebrate the end of another trying week at work with a visit to P. Terry’s. The weekend will be a challenge (as all weekends have been), but I’m going to try to work in a fasting period of 24 to 36 hours. Once next week is over, I’ll have a bit of a respite from the stress of the daily grind because I’ll be attending a training class at work, but that may simply result in a different type of stress. Regardless, I’m still looking forward to being away from my cubicle/cell/temple of misery.
I’m going to try to incorporate some sort of physical activity into this weekend. I always intend to get some exercise on Saturdays and Sundays, but it never seems to happen, and that’s a problem for both my mood and my weight loss efforts. The duration and intensity of exercise I typically get really isn’t that much, but it’s better than nothing, and I need to get back on track with it since I’ve worked out only a handful of times in the past two weeks.
This post strikes me as an especially boring one, so I’ll mercifully end it. Hopefully I’ll have more interesting things to say in the next post
