I’d planned to fast all day yesterday, but that didn’t happen. There’s a cafeteria at work, and I haven’t been there in several months, but, due to my training class, I had the opportunity to go there yesterday to get a coffee. My coffee choice wasn’t a good one: it was a vanilla caramel Americano with cream. And going there reminded me that I could come back for lunch, which I usually don’t have the opportunity to do because of my regular schedule.

So, I went back for lunch and had something unhealthy: nachos. The cafeteria actually has pretty good nachos—they’re not exactly traditional but have a lot of stuff in them. Anyway, although the portion size is relatively small, I noticed that it was heavier than I remembered it being, so I’m sure lunch was packed with calories. And I had a lemonade, too, so that only added to the sugar intake after the coffee I’d had earlier.

After work, I had to stop by the grocery store for blueberries and yogurt. The HEB near me is always packed, and just finding a parking space and navigating through a bunch of people tends to make me anxious. Succumbing to the Slippery Slope Effect that had begun at work, I picked up some chocolate-covered almonds in addition to the blueberries and yogurt. I also picked up a couple of mangoes, but I don’t feel too bad about that.

Anyway, I’m three pounds heavier this morning than I was yesterday morning. Some of that is from the excessive amount of water I drank after work due to not drinking any during the training class, but most of it is just from too many calories consumed throughout the entire day. I’ll need to either fast all of today or at least consume a minimal amount of calories to counter the missteps from yesterday. Overall, the trend for weight during the past few days has been distinctly upward, so that needs to change. Not too long ago, I had being at some weight less than 240 pounds in sight, and I’ve regressed, so I need to get back on track to avoid being completely discouraged.
