It’s kind of amazing that I’ve had stretches of two or three days during which I’ve weighed exactly the same. Actually, as of today, I’ve weighed the same for four days in a row. And obviously I’m not eating the same thing every day. In fact, I expected to gain a little weight yesterday because I had an oversized portion of peach cobbler in addition to a basic vegetarian salad, but no such gain occurred.
It’s almost pointless for me to write posts lately. I’m not doing a good job at all of heating healthy (and haven’t been for a few months now). But I’m going to try to get back on track next week. I have some extra incentive as I have a doctor’s appointment coming up and don’t want to have to explain how I’ve gained more than 15 pounds since my last visit.
I’ve been trying to think of how to make my salads more complete. Having a salad every day is a rather boring prospect, but it’s what I need to start doing. I’m not really interested in having to cook a protein every night after work to put in a salad, so I’ve been trying to think of vegetarian sources of protein (and fat). I just don’t feel satiated with my salads as they are now. If I add some cheese and avocado in addition to the hummus and nuts I typically include, maybe that will help. I’ll try adding some olives, too.
That’s my strategy for the next two weeks. Hopefully the added pressure of an upcoming visit to the doctor will help me stay on track. We’ll see…
