Although yesterday was a non-fasting day, I didn’t expect to gain any weight. I actually did accumulate a little bit (less than a pound), so I’m disappointed. I stuck to my usual yogurt and blueberries for breakfast, had an apple shortly after breakfast, and then had a vegetarian salad for dinner. I did include cashews and Swiss cheese in the salad, and I do use a liberal amount of vinaigrette, so it probably wasn’t as low-calorie as it could have been. And the cashews were salted, so I’m probably retaining some water.
I tend to sample some of the ingredients I buy for meals. For example, I had some cashews and Swiss cheese on their own yesterday. That sampling obviously just adds calories, so I should avoid it. I’m not yet very good at resisting temptation when what I want is just a few steps away. However, because my job has been a source of so much anxiety, I really wanted to stop by P. Terry’s for a burger after work, but I successfully resisted that temptation. Proximity matters, apparently.
My goal for this week is to (once again) get down to 250 pounds by the weekend. There are no lunches or parties to attend at the end of this week, so that should help. I’ve sworn off Cheeseburger Weekend, so I’ll have to come up with something (healthier) to eat on Saturday and Sunday. I’m thinking taco salad.
I have a headache again, and I can’t think of anything else to say, so this post will have to be a short one. Maybe I’ll have more to say tomorrow.
