For some reason, I’ve been forgetting to eat breakfast lately. Yesterday was a non-fasting day, and I missed breakfast just as I did every day this week (there have been no fasting days this week). I guess that sort of forgetting isn’t a bad thing, but my guess is that it’s contributed to overeating at dinner. It just sucks to feel hungry all day, and when it comes time to eat, it’s no surprise that I overindulge. Anyway, after my vegetarian salad last night and a lot of steamed broccoli with cheese sauce, I lost about a pound.

Given that I seem to be stuck in terms of getting below 240 pounds, I think it’s time to mix things up. I may try keto for a while. What makes keto work is that carbohydrate intake is extremely low, making glucose in the blood low, so the body has to use fat to produce ketones for fuel, which burns fat. I hate the idea of keto, though, because it excludes fruits due to the carbohydrates in them, but fruits are an incredible source of phytonutrients and fiber.

Anyway, this post will have to end here because I’m taking a friend grocery shopping and then preparing for the arrival of a guest. Hopefully I can avoid the chocolate-covered almonds at the grocery store.
