I didn’t fast yesterday. Getting off work on a Friday felt like something to celebrate (a temporary reprieve from my ongoing misery), so I tried the P. Terry’s trick again. It didn’t work this time. I gained less than a pound, but I was hoping to lose something similar to what I’ve lost before when my only meal of the day has been a cheeseburger and fries from P. Terry’s. If I eat the same thing one day as I did some other day in the past, my expectation is to have the same result in terms of weight loss or weight gain, but it doesn’t always work out that way.

I did order a new scale yesterday. I don’t know that my current one is actually faulty, but there have been gains and losses that I just can’t explain on some days, so I thought I’d go ahead and try a new one. My guess is that the scale is fine and there are just factors at work that I’m not taking into consideration when I unexpectedly gain or lose weight. We’ll see.

I’m going to try to stick with my giant salads for today and tomorrow since the weekends are typically when I gain weight rather than lose it. I’m also going to have an apple each day as well as my usual yogurt and blueberries. I’m still on the fence about whether I should try keto, but I’ll see what I weigh on Monday before making that decision.

I haven’t been good about getting exercise on the weekends, but I’ve assembled my climbing contraption, so I’ll spend some time on it today and tomorrow. I’m hoping the climbing motion doesn’t aggravate my arthritic shoulders. If so, I may need to get cortisone shots since any sort of motion outside normal range can cause pain.

I haven’t had my coffee yet, and that’s perhaps obvious from the nature of this post. I’m going to get some coconut creamer for my coffee because I think I deserve to have a decent cup of coffee on the weekends. In addition to coffee, I’m going to make some brewed cacao (not cocoa) and some matcha with a bit of creamer. The creamer has a slight amount of sugar in it (I seem to remember two grams), but that’s relatively insignificant, so I’ll treat myself.
